Venison (Wilds) Potjie
Ingredients
  • 1kg venisoncubed
  • 250g Rindless baconchopped
  • 125ml sunflower oil
  • 4 Medium carrotssliced
  • 2 medium onionssliced
  • 2 cloves garliccrushed
  • 10ml chopped fresh thyme
  • 500ml Portor dry red wine
  • 6 Medium potatoessliced
Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in a Potjie and sauté the carrots, onions and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the thyme, meat, bacon and port and simmer, covered, for 3 hours.
  3. Add the potatoes and simmer for a further 30 to 45 minutes.
